Taio Cruz; Break Your Heart

He is up front about his flaw. He is taking ownship of his flaw. (note people in Dante's hell never admit they are wrong or the cause of there own situation). He is warning her. He is not mis-leading. He might tear her apart. Which has hope (might), but again he is not misleading or selling it as a virtue. He is at best delaying it. Delaying the work he needs to do.

Kesha; Blah, Blah, Blah

The narrator feigns a confidence and leadership as if her candidness, her frankness is bringing the subject to some foundational wisedom about life. She is a siren manipulating the weak willed. She's leading another human on a journey to be dismantled under the ripping surf, under the specticle. She will hide in the chaos, in the large wake of the debray. It makes her seem large, and makes another feel small, powerless. But the wisedom is vacuous. The song promotes has no love, no community, no mending.

The narrator is in an state of peace and ecstacy. "...I will stroll the merry way and jump the hedges fist", but not yet complete in oneness, resting in God. He begins to be purifyed in river Eunoe..."And you shall take me strongly in your arms again and I will not remember that I even felt the pain". Now ready to mount the stars and move toward oneness with God

The Velvet Underground; Sunday Morning

The lyrics have the remorsefulness of the late repentant. The nararator is cast in an over-indulgent fog set on by the previous night, but this is balanced with a hopeful "praise" of the morning and the dawn. In some sense there is an over indulgance in community and there is a hope that "There's always someone around you who will call"

Lady GaGa; Telephone

What if the caller is sick, or trapped under a chest of draws. It is a song about weakness and self indulgence. The callee has lapsed into solapsism. retreated into there own subjectiveness. The song destroys community. Luke 11:5-8;

Amon Amarth; Runes To My Memory

If you take this song in its celtic context, you see the morality of an expansionist hero culture--not unlike a homeric hero. It has some community. He wants to be buried with his kin folk in a mound. He wants a rune raised in his memory with his story. He doesn't want to to be erased from the mind of his community. And he is hopeful for an afterlife. That was my first scan of the lyrics.

But then the moral anaomilies begin to stack up. Wanting runes raise to his memory tends to lack humility. And what was he doing in the land of the Rus? I am sure he was not there helping the poor, widows and orphans. I am sure he was not repairing homes with the sword he was clutching on the shoreline while anouncing his funeral preferences. He was probably using his sword to create the poor, to create widows and to create orphans. That said, he was promoting his community, while destroying another (ex.the land of Rus). I would put the lyric in 7th circle of Hell for violence against neighbors
