This song can be summed up in two existental word "Either\Or". You can choose the aestetic life or the moral life. It break through the threshold of relativism. While i can see Cato humming this to wayfarers as they come to the shores of purgatory. It clearly belongs in the the heaven due to its light and wisedom.
